Office 2016/365 "has run into an error that is preventing it from working correctly".

This can afflict newly installed systems.

Check that the installation has been registered with the relevant account. Sometimes Office is slow to do this.

Run the proffered Repair.

Go to File - Account.

Check whether registered. If not then the Registration request should pop up.

Failing this, try running an Update (from the same page)

Finally, reinstall Office and try these steps again.
